WOOD TYPES:

Unique characteristics of wood dictate that no two are exactly alike. Tones vary from light to dark and can contrast from little to great. I strive for optimum beauty in every bow but cannot guarantee a specific look or color. Photos that appear throughout this website are some examples.

Below is a selection for Riser Woods, Limb Cores, and Veneers. I'll build your Custom bow out of most hardwoods, if you like an other wood that is not shown, let's talk about it.

Riser Woods Choices

Light weight riser woods-Imbuya, Zebrawood, Leopardwood, Shedua, and Black Walnut (not shown)

Medium weight riser woods-Bubinga, Maples, Wenge, Bolivian Rosewood, and Bocote

Heavy weight riser woods-Cocobolo, Ziricote, Macassar Ebony, Dymondwood (No Longer Used), Honduras Rosewood, Black African, and Verawood

(For more wood options and combinations please give me a call.)

Limb Cores Available

All cores are vertically laminated. The Bamboo that I use is Plyboo. The Actionwood is Maple (old Stock), the new Actionwood is White Birch and I won't use that material in a limb core. Pictured (right) are custom vertically laminated hickory. I cut and grind Select boards to 1/8". Then glue them into a block, cut, and grind them for your cores.

Limb Veneer Choices

Choice of limb veneers should be light in color.....that away the silver streaks in the clear glass won't be as noticeable. Darker veneers look great until you get them in the sunlight. I don't make the glass Gordon's Composite Inc. does, so I will not be responsible for the silver streaks.

Checkered Grip

18 lines per inch, checkering where is counts, thumb & finger groove down to the heal of your bow hand.
