“The Sidekick” Discontinued

like The Drifter is the less expensive hunters friend. It has all the design and shooting characteristics of the Phantom without the multi-laminated riser and clear glass limbs.

The bow is constructed of a vertically laminated maple riser dyed a walnut color and backed with glass. Limbs are Superflex Actionwood backed with brown Gordon Botuff. Clear glass is available over action wood that matches the color of the riser, as a slight additional cost.

Discontinued: Actionwood is no longer made with Maple, it's now made with White Birch. White Birch Actionwood is not strong enough to make this riser.

I do still make replacement/extra limbs. 58"-66" lengths. All new limbs will need to be hand fit and tiller to your riser. So once I lay up the limbs and I'm ready to fit them I will notify you to send me your riser. That away you are not with out your bow for long. I will also match the finished used on your riser unless otherwise specified. The standard finish Jim used was Deft Polyurethane Satin.

For a set of Brown or Black Glass Only Sidekick limbs: $ 538

Below is an exert of the last brochure Jim produced circa 1990:

General

As time has gone by my 62" bow has become the most popular length I make. For sometime now I've wanted to design a 62" & 60" bow that drew as smooth and shot as well as the existing 64" & 66" bows. After months of designing and testing I've achieved that goal. Customers who already have these new bows agree. I'm proud to introduce these bows to you.

To me the true test of a hunting bow isn't how it performs on targets, but in the field. My experience this past fall with a 62" Sidekick, one at a trophy Blacktail and the other a Javelina - both are in the freezer. After achieving my initial goals, I implemented this design into the 66" & 66" models of the takedown and then into a one piece bow design.

So there you have it, a better than ever line of Brackenbury bows.

Will the existing line live on? You bet! They have been time tested, proven performers in the field for over 10 years. Hundreds of bowhunters feel they're the best bows ever made and they were, until now anyway.
