"I bought Jim Brackenbury Bows, Inc. in 08/01 because I believe Jim designed some of the finest traditional bows available and to carry on the Tradition of "The Legend"!"

All Brackenbury bows are hand crafted one at a time by one person, me. Our product offering utilizes three recurve and one longbow designs to satisfy a wide spectrum of individual needs. Each bow is created to your specifications: that is, the length you desire (58”, 60", 62", 64" and 66"), the weight you require (+/- 2#) at the draw length you specify and in the model that best suits your needs. The grip is sculpted for an exceptional fit in your hand. A natural pointing medium wrist grip is standard, we also offer a low or high wrist if you prefer.

Instinctive shootability is built into every bow. The shelf is cut so the arrow sits less than 1/4" from your hand. The sight window is cut 3/16" past center for the best arrow clearance and broadhead flight. If you prefer an elevated rest, most of the stick-on varieties work well.

The Riser section is made of various laminated high strength hardwoods to maximize strength and stability in each model. Risers are cut and hand ground to a specific pattern. Limbs are hand blended onto the riser for a perfect fit and one piece look. To achieve this unsurpassed fit on extra limb sets they should be made at the same time the bow is or the riser returned at a later date for hand fitting. The takedown system utilizes two 3/16" guide pins and 5/16" Allen bolt that screw into a 7/8" long steel bushing that is tapped and epoxy in to the riser.

Custom Cores2.jpg (61248 bytes)Actionwood has proven to be one of the best choice with a high performance limb design. The proper core wood adds stability and reliability whereas limb design controls the feel and recovery speed in a bow. Since Actionwood has been used for many years in some of the finest shooting bows, when you order a bow with a "custom cores" they are made of hand cut and ground vertical strips out of the wood of your choice. Pictured to the left is an example of a "custom core" made of Hickory.

The fiberglass used is Gordon's Botuff in clear as standard with black or brown offered as options. NOTE: The clear glass that is available today may have silver streaks in the glass, dark colored veneers enhance the streaks, so consider your veneer wood choice carefully. I will not be responsible for this visual flaw in the glass. I don't make the glass, Gordon Composite Inc. does, it is still the best performing material available.

Jim Brackenbury's limb design is wide, tapering gracefully to a narrow tip. The long limbs and long fadeouts with gentle recurves allow the entire limb to work giving superb smoothness. The bow is extremely quiet shooting, with a low brace height of 7-1/2". All these characteristics combine to make a limb of unsurpassed smoothness, stability, reliability, and quietness.

Our finish is a extremely durable 2 part marine epoxy for protection against moister, scratches and dings. It's a finish that will look great after many years of service.

All Brackenbury bows are equipped with "Flemish" style bowstring. They are naturally quieter shooting and wear longer through extended use. All bows super string ready Dyna97 as a standard starting in 2003.
